Entry information will soon be available for the 2008 Ankeny Optimists' 5K Run. The race, held in conjuction with Ankeny Summerfest, is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2008. The tentative time is set for 7:30 AM.

KIDS FISHING DERBY
AGES: Children ages 5 – 13
DATE: Saturday, June 7
TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
FEE: free
LOCATION: Hawkeye Park
DEADLINE: May 30
Parents are required to attend this event with their child. Bait will be provided; each participant should bring a fishing rod and tackle. This event is sponsored by the Ankeny Optimist Club, Central Iowa Anglers and Wal-Mart.
