|
Some of the activities conducted by the Optimist Club of Ankeny include an annual 5K run/walk in conjuction with Ankeny Summerfest, an annual mini-golf event at Halloween, providing donations to youth organizations (such as Ankeny High School Circle of Friends), sponsoring youth to attend camps, participating in "adopt-a-family" for holidays, and working concessions at Wells Fargo Arena events (fundraiser). The Club also serves as co-sponsor of the Ankeny High School Shooting Sports Program.
In addition, the Club participates in Optimist International sponsored activities such as the Youth Essay and Oratorical Contests and Childhood Cancer Campaign (CCC).
We continually seek out more activities based on members' input and interests.
